Fair Access to the Legal Profession: Questions of Justice and Education will take place in Committee Room 6 of the Scottish Parliament at 6 – 7.30pm on Tuesday 23 October.

The event, sponsored by Marco Biagi MSP, and run with the participation of the student-led Campaign for Fair Access to the Legal Profession, will provide an opportunity for politicians to meet with law students, fair access campaigners and members of the legal profession. The event will focus on how to ensure all with the right ability and ambition can compete equally to enter the profession, regardless of their social background or economic circumstances.

Speakers at the event will include Mike Dailly, Principal Solicitor of the Govan Law Centre and prominent social justice campaigner; Robin Parker, President of NUS Scotland; Mr Biagi; and Tim Haddow, Campaign Coordinator for CFALP. There will also be opportunity for MSPs, speakers, invited guests and attendees to mingle and discuss the issues informally.

A limited number of places are still available at this event. Law students and recent graduates who have been, or may be, prevented from pursuing legal careers are particularly encouraged to attend. Places are also available for a cross-section of law students and legal professionals interested in the issues of fair access to the DPLP and the legal profession.

To register your interest in attending, please complete the online form at https://cfalp.wordpress.com/cfalp-event-23-october/event-registration/

Update 15 October: Regrettably, the event is now over-subscribed, so registration has closed. If you are still interested in supporting CFALP, we would encourage you to sign-up for our supporters network at the link above.
